An AI product agent listens to users, finds what blocks them and ships the fix with human approval. How it differs from chatbots and coding agents.
A definition
An AI product agent is software that does the product work around a fix: it listens to users and the team, finds what blocks people, proposes a change with the evidence behind it and prepares the work for a human to approve.
Not a chatbot
A chatbot waits for a question. A product agent starts from signals: a funnel drop, a cluster of support chats, a pattern in interviews. It brings the question to you, together with an answer you can check.
Not a coding agent
Coding agents are excellent at turning a clear task into code. They do not decide which task matters. A product agent does that part: which problem, for whom, how big, and what is the smallest fix. The two work well together.
A useful product agent lives where the team already works: Slack or Teams for conversation, PostHog for behavior, Intercom for support, GitHub and Linear for work. It leaves its output there too, as messages, issues and pull requests.
Human approval by design
Every change should wait for a person to say yes, with a clear reason and a way to undo it. Wirey is built around this rule: it does the listening, research and drafting, and it never ships without your approval.
